End-of-Life Care Done with Humanity
Choosing hospice care for a loved one is one of the most difficult decisions a family can face. At Serenity Plus AFH, we believe that the environment in which that care is delivered matters profoundly. A quiet, home-like setting — with familiar caregivers, soft light, home cooking, and genuine relationships — is simply not the same as a clinical ward, and we believe your loved one deserves better than a clinical ward.
We partner directly with licensed hospice organizations to provide comfort-focused care while our team handles the day-to-day personal care, presence, and emotional support.
What We Provide
- 24/7 presence and personal care — bathing, grooming, repositioning, comfort measures
- Close coordination with the resident's chosen hospice agency
- Pain and symptom observation — reported promptly to hospice nursing staff
- Flexible visiting hours — family is welcome at any time, including overnight stays
- Emotional and spiritual support for residents and families from our caregiving team
- Accommodation of religious, cultural, and personal end-of-life wishes
- Bereavement support and follow-up contact with families after passing
We accept residents who are already enrolled in hospice, and we can facilitate hospice enrollment for residents whose condition warrants it. We work with all major hospice providers in Pierce County.
Supporting the Whole Family
End-of-life care is not only about the resident — it is about the family members who need to be present, informed, and at peace with the care their loved one is receiving. At Serenity Plus AFH, we commit to:
- Proactive communication — no family should learn of a significant change secondhand
- Open-door visiting — including provisions for overnight family presence
- Honest conversations about prognosis and what to expect
- Respect for advance directives, DNR orders, and documented wishes
